Apprentice training at Felbermayr

October 10, 2019 | Markus Lackner

As an internationally active family business, Felbermayr is looking for people with a great variety of interests and qualifications. Alongside specialists from the areas of construction and transport, the job opportunities are also suited to apprentices. True to the Felbermayr motto "Team of opportunities", there are various options for young people to choose from here.

Apprenticeship or school leaving certificate? Nowadays it is no longer necessary to choose between them. Apprenticeships with leaving certificates are supported in the same way as another training innovation, the dual academy, offering general secondary school leaving certificate holders the opportunity of vocational training with a shortened training period. With this option, Felbermayr is fighting against the growing deficit of specialists.

Job opportunities

The expanding company is represented throughout Europe and is currently developing seven different apprenticeships. These include three manual trades, such as automotive technician, structural engineer with or without concrete building technology and civil engineers as well as four different commercial apprenticeships. These include apprenticeships for financial and accounting assistants, office administrator, freight forwarding clerks, or an apprenticeship as a structural engineering assistant. "We are confident that we will be able to entice many young people with the professional training that we offer", says Managing Director Andrea Felbermayr in an interview at the trade fair for young people and careers in Wels at the start of October. The participation in this trade fair drew many young people's attention to the company and the professional training on offer, in order to be able to attract the specialists of the future. Managing Director Horst Felbermayr is also convinced that the apprenticeships can be an important step for starting a career: "We have numerous employees in the company who started with us as apprentices and who are now department leaders or divisional managers, who have taken on management responsibilities and who are now helping to shape the corporate group."

With 69 sites in 19 countries, the company has specialised in transport, lifting technology and construction and is represented throughout Europe. So at Felbermayr it is also possible to gather professional experience abroad thus providing the best future prospects for young people.
