Felbermayr-Bau expands general management

In addition to the classic trades of structural, civil and specialised civil engineering, Felbermayr has also been active in the hydraulic engineering and ancillary construction trades for many years. “Thanks to continuous growth and numerous acquisitions, the company has had a real growth spurt in recent years”, said owner and CEO of Felbermayr Holding, Horst Felbermayr. He explained that this is the main reason for agreeing to the suggestion by long-term construction managing director Stefan Hielle and expanding technical general management.
Bernhard Strasser becomes managing director
This expansion is a logical consequence for Stefan Hielle: “We are in a fast-changing environment and have expanded our service range continuously in recent years, which necessitates sharing the work”, states Hielle, who now acts as spokesman for the general management, as the motivation. Getting Bernhard Strasser, an experienced civil engineering expert, from within the ranks for this position was a stroke of luck: “Strasser has been part of the team as divisional manager for civil engineering in Austria for three years and gas qualified for this role perfectly both with his technical expertise and his staff management”, continues Hielle. Strasser’s past responsibilities mainly included road construction, infrastructure construction and earthworks, as well as demolition, sewer channel renovation, road surfacing and landscaping. With his appointment as managing director, the responsibilities of the 48-year-old from Mondsee will expand to all companies assigned to the construction division. Strasser adds: “I’m looking forward to the great and exciting challenge”. The married father of two says that his main aim is to continue to guide the company on its successful path and to develop it. He explains that expanding general management provides the best prerequisites for this. “In this way, we can continue to face the volatile market conditions in the future and set the right course when it comes to the challenges of digitisation and sustainability in the building industry”, the sailing enthusiast adds.
The successor to the post of divisional manager for civil engineering in Austria will be the previous departmental manager for infrastructure construction, Hans Becker. He has also worked for the company for three years and has around 20 years of experience in civil engineering.
