Felbermayr takes over shipping companies

This acquisition signifies a considerable expansion in the range of services towards inland shipping and maritime services for Felbermayr's transport and lifting equipment business area. Felbermayr is already active as a heavy load logistician and terminal operator in Krefeld on the Rhine, and in Linz on the Danube.

The acquisition of the companies will enable Felbermayr to provide container transportation, including upstream and downstream, and to work in the loading of inland vessels, in the short sea area, and as a shipping agent.

The workforce and all company locations in Germany, Belgium, France, Switzerland and Poland have been taken over and will continue unchanged thanks to the reliable employees. The successful continuation of current business is therefore guaranteed.

The sale came about as a result of SNCB Logistics' efforts to re-focus on their core business, rail freight, in the future.
