Felbermayr Bau expands

In March 2012 Felbermayr obtained the business units hydraulic and culvert works and the subdivisions dump construction and clearance and disposal of unexploded ordnance of the insolvent Reinhold Meister Gruppe with offices in Hengersberg, Deggendorf. Felbermayr thus expands the existing segment hydraulic works and opens up to new activities. At the same time the Austrian subsidiary Reinhold Meister Austria GmbH was fully taken over. This way Felbermayr aims at strengthening its position in European hydraulic works.

"We are happy to have secured more than 230 jobs of the insolvent Reinhold Meister Gruppe", says DI Horst Felbermayr about the take over of the companies now operating as Reinhold Meister Wasserbau GmbH, HAGN Umwelttechnik GmbH, Müsing Wasserbau GmbH and Müsing Kampfmittelräumung GmbH.

The companies operate by themselves in every way, both commercially and operationally. According to Felbermayr this take over is a chance to become a strong player in the European hydraulic works sector – especially because of the significant expansion of the fleet. Felbermayr mentions that future projects could consist of the execution of complex hydraulic, earth and engineering works including specialist mining– especially with regards to the maintenance of the European network of waterways. "The present area of operation stretches from Rees at the Dutch border to Sulina at the Black Sea", says Felbermayr.
