Logistik-Manager 2013

November 20, 2013 | Markus Lackner

Senior partner, Horst Felbermayr, received the "Logistics Manager 2013" award in late November in front of big names in the Austrian logistics industry. The prize was awarded by the international weekly "Verkehr".

The big names in logistics and representatives from the Federal Ministry came to attend the prize ceremony. The 21st floor of the Saturn Tower in Vienna was the scene of the official hand-over.

Five people in total from within the domestic transport industry were nominated. Ultimately, victory went to the senior partner of the Wels-based haulage and hoisting company of the same name, Felbermayr. He was voted "Logistics Manager 2013" by the readers of "Verkehr" via online voting.

Horst Felbermayr is a worthy winner according to "Verkehr", not least because of his consistent use of multi-modal heavy haulage. Horst Felbermayr said: "It all began in 1994 when I bought a fleet of low-loader rail transports from Intercont. That was our first appearance on the tracks and gave rise to an international low-loader rail transport company. Its follow-up two years later discovered the three-way philosophy with the purchase of the heavy-load port at the old VÖEST site." Felbermayr could not have succeeded without the right employees, though, something which contributed as much to his success as his motto: "Only someone who is on the move can move something".
